| About this website
There are plenty of websites promoting ukiyo-e (Japanese woodblock prints), but very few dealing with Japanese books. This website attempts to fill that gap. My original intention was to make the site as interactive as possible, catering to people's tastes, responding to enquiries, tracking down material, etc. Unfortunately, though I began that way, and kept it up for a while, in the end other pressures have forced me to scale down my input here for the time being. At present, therefore, I regret that I cannot respond to requests. I hope to be able to do so sometime in the future, but for now I'm afraid all I can offer is the information on the website.
About me I am a teacher of English literature in a Japanese university; visit my website for students to find out about that side of my life. I spent years as a research student poring over rare books and manuscripts, but at that stage my interest was in the contents. I did not become interested in books as collectible objects until much later on. You can find links to my own collections below
